It is very difficult to overcome the pronounced carnal desires and to replace it with the theology of the one flesh Union. But it is possible if we build up trust and faith in God. The intense faith and prayerful life will give strength and beauty to the immaculate love between wife and husband and can become capable of enjoying abstinence withe the same degree of one flesh Union. There comes God’s gift of children.
A complete change in our perception only work this way

That is the most content baby I’ve ever seen. Gorgeous. Congratulations on another beautiful child. Your kids have that wide-eyed innocence, that many Catholic children have, I’ve noticed. It’s lovely. Cherish it.
“All is well” is the same as saying “Thy will be done”. It’s funny, but sometimes God tests people until they are stretched to the very limits (especially me). If they don’t just surrender their wills and hand everything over to God and accept his divine will in all things, then they will snap. Even when everything seems lost, including self-esteem, family, respect, and all aspects of normal social life, including mental health, we are still bound to accept God’s will, just like Job. It was the devil causing all of Job’s woes, but an allowed testing by God. I’ve found the exact thing happening in my life. After 30 years, I’m finally climbing out the other end, still trusting in God’s will for me.
Ironically, just after the death of my beautiful, loving mother, I have met a wonderful fertility specialist who is beginning experiments in stem cells to rejuvenate the reproductive systems of women. Talking about the wonders of modern medicine! This will carve the way for Catholics who are now using IVF and donor programs to have families, and disobeying the church in secrecy. They will be able to use their own stem cells to produce their own eggs, which is completely moral and ethical according to Catholic teachings, as far as I can see. (Luckily, I look 34 when I’m 20 years older and perimenopausal. Must be that surrendering thing.) Now searching for a husband on Catholic dating sites (haha). All is well.

    • Thank you Katherine. Good news on the fertility front. Pray to Saint Anne and Saint Gabriel for a husband!

Just wanted to send my congratulations on the arrival of your precious baby girl. I come from a large family and we recently held an 80th/reunion of the family and it was so special. Also, this past February one of my younger sisters, Margaret Mary, passed away and I continue to feel her loss but I know she is with Our Father. But I was so pleased to see that you named your daughter, Margaret. That is a consolation for me. God bless all your family and hope your wife gets lots of rest.

    • Thank you PJ. May your Margaret Mary rest in peace. I hope my sons are also one day loving their aged sisters and mourning their passing. I’ll be long gone by then. Your love for your sister warms my heart.

Congrats on your giant blessing in a little bundle! My husband and I want to thank you for this podcast as it gave us a lot of encouragement! The timing was truly perfect, God is so good to us. On a side note, I am very disappointed y’all did not take the suggestion of Walburga for a name 🙂 I guess we will have to file it away for in the event we are blessed with another girl. May God continue to bless you and your family abundantly!
