#052: 1 Year Anniversary Special Edition: Essentialism What is the Essence of Your Life?

My goal this week is to encourage you to embrace essentialism. Essentialism is the art of disciplining your self to want less, use less, and do less. You know less is more. My friend Josh Simmons turned me on to Greg McKeown new book Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less.

The key is doing only a few really great things. Multitasking is the enemy. So today I’ll share four conclusion I’ve made for myself about become a better “essentialist.

Here’s the link to the book: Essentialism by Greg McKeown.

Today is also the ‘Hyped Up’ 52nd Episode and One Year Anniversary Episode!!!

Thank you to all who listened, rated, and supported the show. Here’s the next 52 weeks! I think you’ll like this week’s special introduction!

Happy Anniversary! Thank you for the podcast, it’s great and I look forward to it each week.

I am dying of laughter. Nice stereo delay!!!

    • I’m glad you like the lapse effect. I’ve always wanted to use the “epic” sounds. One year was a good excuse to pull out the stops!

      • Paul

        Loved the intro!

I’m so glad you’re keeping the proverb. For 3 reasons:
    1. It takes very little time but has high impact.
    2. It is a hallmark of your show that makes it distinct from other similar podcasts.
    3. Your show has a uniquely practical aspect. The proverbs are God’s practical wisdom, so I feel they act as a microcosm of what you’re trying to do with each show, especially when they tie in to the main theme.

When you run out of proverbs from the wisdom literature of the Bible, there’s always the sayings of the saints to draw from as well.

I haven’t heard most of the top 10 episodes yet, so I’m looking forward to catching up. I voted for #24, about failure. I am a Cleveland sports fan, so maybe that’s part of how I found that episode special.
