I am a member of the New Saint Thomas Institute and I must say that you should have a listen because that podcast is the best stuff in NSTI so far! Great material, excellent explanation.

Victor, longer story short, I’m not a member of the New Saint Thomas Institute but I must also add that you’re probably right when you say in so many words that humans should have a listen to all of Doctor Marshall podcast because it Is probably the best stuff around if only because of the Great material and excellent knowledgeable sincere explanation that Doctor Taylor Marshall can provide.

By the way, it is great to finally hear from his good wife Joy.

      God Bless

A friend forwarded the podcast How Was the Bible Assembled? and I enjoyed it very much. I have a quibble though. You said that the Jewish Bible didn’t include Esther but it does and a few more. According to Rabbi Joseph Telushkin in his book Jewish Literacy, he tells us that the Hebrew Bible is made up of three categories of books. They are; Torah, Nevi’im (Prophets) and Ketuvim (Writings). Esther is from Ketuvim and provides the story that inspires Purim. Other than that it was a fine presentation.

    • Dear Billy,

I don’t think that I said that Esther was NOT in the Jewish Bible. It clearly is. I was trying to make the point that a Protestant cannot *prove* that Esther should be in the Bible.

  • Wayne Buse

Not sure that the seven books are rejected by Jews because of their being Christological. The can’t possibly be more messianic that some of the Psalms, Isaiah, or Zechariah.

    • I’m not sure that the Danielic “Bel and the Dragon” is a “fairy tale.” It’s not clear what the “dragon” really is here. It’s really like a detective story…

      • Michael S Clifford

If you read Apocalypse 12, 13, 17, 18, you know that Satan is the Dragon

  • Patrick Bergin

I don’t know if many will see this comment but Rev. Graham’s Where We Got the Bible is a great (and brief) book on this topic.
