Like Lent, Advent is a season of preparation, but if you’re like me it’s hard to set apart Advent as something important.

I want to recommend to you what I’ll be doing this Advent in preparation for Christmas: 33mary.com. It’s a free online Advent devotional that combines Advent with the 33 Day Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary, made popular by Saint Louis de Montfort and Father Michael Gaitley’s 33 Days to Morning Glory. We are calling it 33Mary.com. It will guide you day by day with teachings from the Saints and provide the necessary prayers to complete the 33 Day Total Consecration. Even if you’ve done it before, this is a great time to renew your consecration.

What is Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary?

Pope Saint John Paul II popularized the method of Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary. His papal motto was Totus Tuus meaning “Totally Yours.” He explained that his papal motto was the fruit of his own 33 Day Total Consecration to Mary. He was totally Mary’s because he wanted to be totally for Jesus. Saint John Paul II said that his  own 33 Day Total Consecration was the “decisive turning point” of his life before becoming Pope.
