The Mormon Romney Tells Some Catholic Jokes at a Catholic Dinner

Video above.
For what it’s worth, Romney rang out some zingers against President Obama at last night’s Al Smith Dinner – a Catholic dinner. He recited a few Catholic jokes. Speaking of Obama’s “you didn’t build that” polemic against those who have built business:
Romney, speaking of Christ’s promise to Saint Peter and the foundation of the Church, Obama’s cynics would have said: “if you’ve got a Church, you didn’t build that.”
Another good one: “Romney: I was hoping that President Obama would bring Joe Biden along, because he’ll laugh at anything.”
His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan, who was seated between the two contestants, seems to be living it up.

I don’t know what it is, but it makes me uncomfortable to see the cardinal seated between the two candidates like that. I get the feeling that the candidates are using the Catholic Church and nobody realizes it. Did anybody else have the same impression? Please leave a comment.
