Prophecy is sometimes clearer after the fact.  ;)   In many cases, particularly the first several, I wonder whether we should replace “…be an…” with “…be perceived as…?”

  • Marc Cardaronella

This is pretty cool. Not having the “desire of women” is an interesting one! What do you think is up with that?

  • David Meyer

Thank you so much for the info. I asked Catholic Answers this question and they never got back to me! There is so much I want to make sure I am believing in line with the magisterium that I suspect much of my belief needs revisiting. This is one of those areas.

I think of Postmil as already being sort of a “positive amil” and have never considered it through political lenses, (not with politics as a goal of it in any way) but I will submit to the Church on this. If I am to believe the/a antchrist is still to come, I suppose that rules out true postmil anyway.

From this momment on I will no longer call myself a Postmillenialist. I am now a positive Amillenialist. Thanks for your clear help on this. I feel like i’m going back to my pentacostal days now in the sense that I will be looking for the antchrist again! life is weird.

    Peace,

    David

Taylor,  thanks for clarifying the “position” on the antichrist; I too am a partial preterist.  The funny thing is that this list is not much different (if any difference) from the dispensationalism I grew up with LOL.  Who knew Rome had so much in common with Hal Lindsay!  I am a postmillennialist, but I did just read in CCC 677 that the eschatological kingdom will dawn with the second advent and not the “historical ascendancy of the church.”  So Nero was “an” antichrist….hmmmm

Don’t look for the antichrist. There are much more important things for you to do that you have control over, spotting the antichrist is not really in anyone’s job description. Don’t get caught up in the sensationalism. I welcome you into Holy Mother Church. :)
